Please note the following points
  1. If more than 1000 records meet your search criteria we show only the first 1000 records. However, when you export you get all the records matching the search criteria. If you are looking for something specific, please make the criteria more specific and then click search.
  2. If you are having difficulty finding what you are looking for, try simplifying the terms used (ex. Instead of searching “Navajo bolo tie”, try “bolo” or “tie”).
  3. You may use the Combined Ethnology, Art, and Classics Database to search all three collections at one time. Otherwise, you may search each collection separately using the individual Ethnology, Art, and Classical Archaeology databases.
  4. When fields within the database records are left blank, it means we do not have that information at this time. We are constantly working to update our records.
  5. Even though we have permission to include the images in the online databases, the Ethnology Department at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History does not own the copyright to many of the works of art in the Art Collection.
